Ironically, part of a feeling of abundance is that you need fewer material possessions. It’s usually when you have an inner sense of lack or scarcity that you try to compensate by gathering more physical stuff.
You can’t satisfy a spiritual need with material things
It’s as if you’re trying to fill a gap inside you by getting more and more clothes or technology or money or jewellery – or whatever it is that gives you that brief feeling of fulfillment and satisfaction.
This feeling of fulfillment can only ever be brief and temporary because no physical thing can ever satisfy you in any sustainable or long-lasting way. You will inevitably tire of the new clothes or the new shoes because those things aren’t what you’re really longing for.
You are an eternal being
Your essential nature is spiritual so you will never be able to satisfy a spiritual hunger with material things.
If you’re not consciously aware of your true identity and design as an eternal soul, you may find yourself looking for abundance in all the wrong places.
Your clothes are meant to express your true self
Have you noticed that you wear the same clothes most of the time? Do you find that it’s the same things that regularly go into the wash?
Part of the reason for this is that you’ve been buying so many clothes because you think that something new will make you feel better about yourself or your job or your relationship. You hope that the feeling of happiness and excitement that comes from shopping will satisfy you and ease any inner tension you may be feeling.
Another part of the reason that you have a wardrobe full of clothes but ‘nothing to wear’ is that you’re buying clothes without fully understanding your true self or the needs of your life.
Live and dress authentically
When you’re clear about who you really are and that your clothes are there to express your unique personality and to support you to live an authentic life, it will be easier for you to shop more wisely.
Rather than looking to buy more things as a solution to the vague emptiness that you may feel inside you, turn your attention to your true self and to the development of your soul. This is where you will find a sense of lasting abundance that is more sustainable.
So, before you rush out to shop for more clothes or technology, take a little time to connect with your true inner self. Sit quietly and breathe and remember that you are far more than a wardrobe crammed with clothes or a house filled with possessions that you seldom use.
You are an eternal soul that is perfect, whole and complete, just as you are. You are more radiant, brilliant and expansive than you can ever fully understand.
Have fewer clothes but wear them all
When this awareness fills you, you will find that you need fewer and fewer material things.
And you will also find that what you do have and what you do wear expresses who you are and makes you look and feel self-confident, self-aware and beautiful!
