WHEN SALES ARE USEFUL – BE SAVVY
It was on a sale that I bought my adored fuchsia pink suede coat which I continue to wear every winter, without fail. I’d seen this coat when it first came into the store but I reasoned that it was quite expensive, that I didn’t need another coat and that it would be wiser to stick to the classic colours which mix and match best.
A while later, in one of my workshops, a very elegant woman was wearing this same gorgeous fuchsia coat and I had some mild regret about not buying myself one because she looked so vibrant amidst all the other sombre winter colours that most of the group were wearing.
But things usually work out for the best – even with our clothes – especially if we can see them in perspective and don’t get too attached to them. Shortly after that, I was shopping with a client and happened to see that the selfsame fuchsia coat was on sale – and that there was only one, in my size! So it seemed that I got a second chance and I have treasured this coat and worn it, year after year, ever since.
This is the right way to use sales. Remember to buy only what you really love and which will truly suit you and your lifestyle – and then love it and use it!
