LOOKING AND FEELING CONFIDENT
Many of us wish that we were a bit more confident and often envy those who seem able to speak up for themselves without a trace of shyness. It is good for us to be able to say what we need to say, to be assertive when required and to feel assured in our lives, so having confidence is a useful attribute.
It’s also important to differentiate between brashness and the quiet confidence which comes from inner assurance. It’s this quiet assurance that that allows us to feel that we are in control of ourselves and our lives – and this is where our clothes can be very helpful and supportive.
It works this way: If you’re feeling a bit shy or unsure of yourself and you dress in a way that looks confident – such as wearing a coral or pink jacket, carrying a pink or red handbag or wearing a wrap in a bold colour, people automatically assume that you’re confident. They don’t know that you’re shaking in your shoes but just respond to you as if you really are as confident as you look. And when people treat you as if you are already confident, you take this on and easily behave and carry yourself with more confidence.
In this way, your choice of brighter colours in your clothes and accessories can carry you through whatever you’re doing and help to build genuine confidence within you.
Try this for yourself and you’ll be pleasantly surprised. When you use your clothes consciously, they can take your from where you are now to where you want to be in effortless and fun ways!
